We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support a critical backend modernization and AWS migration initiative. This role will focus on migrating and optimizing backend services, restructuring ETL pipelines, and enabling scalable data access for BI tools and APIs. The ideal candidate brings deep backend engineering expertise, strong data pipeline experience, and the ability to communicate effectively in a consulting-style environment.

Role and responsibilities

• Lead backend engineering efforts related to code and service migration to AWS
• Optimize and migrate Postgres-based systems into AWS-native architectures
• Enhance and restructure existing ETL pipelines for scalability and performance
• Design and implement data fetching, transformation, and loading processes into AWS
• Build and orchestrate pipelines to support BI tools and analytics views
• Develop and manage DBT compute layers to generate optimized analytical views
• Support and integrate with Power BI, Tableau, and Airflow
• Optimize multitenant database architectures for performance and cost efficiency
• Implement high-performance strategies for fetching user-specific data
• Support database merge/split operations during AWS migration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable data delivery

Qualifications

• 6–7+ years of professional experience in backend engineering and/or data engineering
• Proven experience supporting production-grade ETL and analytics systems
• Strong understanding of cloud-based data architectures, preferably AWS

• Experience with performance and cost optimization in AWS
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases
• Experience supporting multi-tenant SaaS platforms
• Strong consulting and stakeholder communication skills
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving, project-based environment
