We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Solutions Engineer to support our sales and partnerships teams by providing technical leadership throughout the pre-sales lifecycle. This role specializes in AWS AI/ML and data platform solutions and works closely with customers, internal delivery teams, and AWS partner stakeholders to scope, architect, and validate solutions aligned with AWS best practices.
The Solutions Engineer bridges sales and delivery by translating business requirements into scalable technical architectures, developing high-level implementation plans and cost estimates, and clearly communicating tradeoffs, timelines, and implementation approaches. This role plays a critical part in accelerating deal velocity while ensuring solutions are feasible, secure, and commercially sound.
Role and Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement

Support sales cycles by leading technical discovery sessions, solution scoping, and architecture discussions

Act as the technical lead during customer meetings, confidently addressing questions related to AWS AI, ML, and data services

Translate business objectives into technical requirements and high-level solution designs

Partner with AWS field teams in co-sell motions, including opportunity validation and solution alignment

Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers throughout the pre-sales process
AWS Architecture & Solution Design

Design reference architectures following AWS best practices for security, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization

Create clear architecture diagrams covering AI/ML pipelines, data lakes, analytics platforms, and application integrations

Select and justify appropriate AWS services (e.g., S3, Glue, Redshift, Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, ECS/EKS) based on customer use cases

Explain architectural tradeoffs and implementation options to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
AI, ML & Data Expertise

Scope AI and ML solutions including data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, inference, and MLOps workflows

Advise on Generative AI architectures using AWS services such as Bedrock, SageMaker, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns

Design modern data platforms including data lakes, analytics pipelines, and batch or streaming processing solutions

Ensure solution designs align with governance, security, and compliance best practices
Costing, Estimation & Planning

Build AWS cost estimates using the AWS Pricing Calculator

Provide high-level implementation timelines, phased delivery plans, and effort estimates

Identify key cost drivers, optimization opportunities, and scaling considerations early in the sales cycle

Support proposal and SOW development by contributing technical scope, assumptions, dependencies, and risk considerations
Internal Collaboration & Enablement

Collaborate with delivery, engineering, and product teams to validate solution feasibility and scope

Provide feedback on customer needs, technical trends, and market insights

Support sales enablement by helping articulate technical value propositions and differentiators
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

Proven experience in a Solutions Architect, Technical Architect, Pre-Sales Consultant, or technical consulting role

Strong understanding of AWS cloud services, particularly in AI/ML and data platforms

Experience designing or discussing architectures involving data lakes, analytics, and ML workloads

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a customer-focused mindset

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, consultative sales environment

Familiarity with CRM tools and opportunity tracking systems

Willingness to occasionally travel for customer meetings or partner engagements
